SHY'S 1ST EVER BALLET RECIDEL

Aaaaaah - it was too cute for words! All our parents was invited to see what the little ones have learned in the 1st quarter of school for ballet. They were to die for! Shy was the one chosen to lead the whole group from the start to the end! She was fabulous! They started of saying: "Good day Teacher, Good day Audience", with a little bow! Shy is a little bit behind on her moves and very shy in front of the people (just like me), but she did great!! The best of it all ... she understands the English terms for everything so perfectly! Her movements was perfect and she does it with so much grace!!!

I am so proud of you, my little Ballerina! You did good!!!

Thank you teacher Amanda! We can not wait for the next one! Keep up the good work!

ST PATRICK'S DAY - 2013

16 March 2013

HAPPY ST PATTIES DAY EVERYONE

What a fabulous day of the year and what a fabulous event! We LOVE St Patties Day and we do it in style and we go all the way GREEN!!! God love the Irish for sharing this one with all of us ... We try every year to see a Leprecon or to find the pot of gold ... but NEVER!!! No luck for us (hie-hie-hie)!!!

We had our friends over for a lekker braai and we went all out! We had our GREEN SHIRTS on, we put on our GREEN HATS ... had GREEN BEER ... The little ones had their GREEN BUBBLES, GREEN HATS too and their GREEN CREAM SODA and even our dog Zaila was part of it all with her GREEN HAT! Too cute for words and we had a blast!

I hope you all had better luck than us to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ... but for those of you who don't know what ST PATRICK'S DAY is all about ... Here's the story:

Saint Patrick was born around 385 AD in the United Kingdom. His real name is believed to be Maewyn Succat (he took on Patrick, or Patricus, after he became a priest). When he was 16, he was kidnapped by a group of Irish raiders and sold into slavery in Ireland. During his six-year captivity as a shepherd, he began to have religious visions and found strength in his faith. He finally escaped to France and became a priest - and later a bishop. When he was about 60 years old, Saint Patrick returned to Ireland to spread the Christian word. He used the shamrock, which resembles a three-leafed clover, as a metaphor to explain the Christian concept of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

Did you Know?
  • Green is associated with St. Patrick's Day because it is the color of spring, Ireland and the shamrock.
  • Leprechauns are also associated with St. Patrick's Day, although the only reason they are is because they're Irish. Leprechauns are usually mean little creatures - with the exception of the Lucky Charms guy.
  • People give Saint Patrick credit for chasing all the snakes out of Ireland. The truth is that snakes are not indigenous to Ireland.
Common symbols and features of St Patrick's Day is:

Shamrock - leaf of a Clover Plant
Rainbow
Pot of Gold
Leprechauns
Green Pint of Beer
Green Food

WOW!! And what a beautiful story it is!! I'M PROUD TO BE A CHRISTIAN!

Our GREEN decorations ... hoping for good luck

A HUGE GIFT FROM MY HUSBAND  ...
FOR MY NEW BUSINESS:

In the line of my business you need a pick-up truck!!! The tables and chairs won't fit into a normal car and so far I've been very blessed and lucky for Sonja to borrow me her pick-up truck every time I need to do a function, but we realized that that arrangement can not last forever and that sooner or lady I'm gonna be in trouble to get business done!!!

My husband has been car shopping this whole week and we found my perfect little dream pick-up truck in a jiffy! A little 2011 Nissan NP200 ... Everything went so quick and well and today when I got home for us to go and pick her up ... SHE WAS ALREADY STANDING IN THE GARAGE!!! Baby organized with the salesman to come and deliver it at home and inside was 2 bottles of wine too!!! How fabulous was that!!! She's soooooooo beautiful and Shyenne decided with me to name her LADY STARLET!!

Thank you Baby for this huge and amazing gift!!! It's so pretty and I will take really good care of it! Thank you Shy for picking the perfect name with you! You guys are so awesome!!!

Thank you God for this amazing gift that came our way to make my business grow. We thank you dearly and from the bottom of our hearts! Please help  me to make YOU proud - Amen!

I have AMAZING plans for Lady Starlet in the near future, but that's more news for another time!!!

THE FORGOTTEN CHILD ...

11 March 2013

MY BIGGEST FEAR CAME TRUE ...

We forgot to pick Shyenne up from school!!!! Shyenne is our number 1 priority and we always make our arrangements everyday around her and her schedule. We discussed the night before that if he is not in time from work, that I have to pick her up from school, but he will let me know in time. I was at work and he let me know that he's home and starting the laundry so long, so I looked on my watch and saw that he was early and usually he picks up Shyenne before he goes home, so I assumed that he had her with him ... In the meantime he was thinking ... We made the arrangements last night regarding Shyenne and assumed that it was final for me to pick her up and he decided to go home early and get a head start on everything, so by the time Shy and I got home - everything was done and we could have a nice evening together!

I went to my parents where we all eat together everyday and it gives them time to spend with Shy, but they were not there yet, but it's all normal, because the 2 of them always come later than me with the laundry. The next minute he drove in and I immediately asked him where Shy is, because she like hiding in the car and then I have to play this whole hide and seek game until I find her, but he looked at me confused and said: "I thought she's with you". I told him not to joke with me on that, because you hear such sad and terrible stories everyday!!

Then it hit us both ... WE FORGOT HER!! Without 1 second of breath we both start running for the cars, but he started screaming that I must stay - he will go! He picked her up just after fine, which is still great, because the school is not closed yet, but for us it was bad, because the latest we ever picked her up was 16:50 - after I leave work, so for us it was just horrible and so terrifying, because that's been the biggest fear for both of us! It was such a lesson for us both and we realized that our communication must be even stronger from now on regarding her! We can only thank God that she was safe and luckily nothing was late or that she was the only person left in the dark on a step, like you see in the movies, but still ... it could have been so much worse!

So learn from our mistake and be EXTRA careful when it comes to the kids and their safety! We live in a very dangerous country and can not even afford to make one second of a mistake in our communication and whereabouts of our children!

I have asked God to forgive us of what we did and believe me ... it haunts me everyday! We also asked Shy to forgive us and needless to say ... She gave us a piece of HER mind!!! She made us promise to come and pick her up even earlier everyday, so now we rush around like crazy to fulfill our promise (hie-hie-hie)!!! She deserves that!!

Tell me about your mistake and bad experience ...

MINNIE MOUSE PARTY

2 March 2013:

I helped Sonja with this one ...

This little one turned 3!!!!! She and her cousin stood by and watched second for second how we decorated everything for her party. They did not say one word!! It all came out so beautiful!!! Everything was in different pinks, white, black, purple & blue! A perfect combination to bright up anything! The little flags & lanterns topped the whole scene and they were all so happy!! The cake & cup cakes looked so great and makes you actually scared to eat it. It was just all so pretty ...

We left there in no time and like we believe in ... SERVICE WITH A SMILE to make your memories last a lifetime!!!!

DEATH & TAXES

Losing someone you love is never easy ...  Losing a parent is very hard and losing a child is even worse!!! The pain ... The memories ... The family and friends that's left behind ... The questions ... The answers you will never get ... The anger ... The mouring ... The healing part ... The never forgotten part ...

How does one deal with it? This is the hardest question to answer, because everyone deals with grief in a different way and in their own way! That does not make one person wrong and the other one right. As long as you can cope with the way to the healing part ... Sadness can bring the strongest to their knees! Have faith and never bottle up - go out and rather share! There's also a lot of groups these days that help each other to go through a similar situation.

I think most of us have lost someone and knows the feeling of lost! My husband and I started the last 2 years with the lost of a parent ... It scares me when a year starts like that to think what the rest of the year will bring, because it just did not start good at all!!!

I dedicate this post to everyone that has lost someone, busy losing someone and dealing with someone that's sick or on their dying bed ... God bless you All!

My Mother-In-Law:  Cornelia Johanna Laubscher (Connie/Bianca)
Rest in Peace:  28 July 1961 - 17 February 2013
Funeral:  Empangeni on 24 February 2013

She was very sick with a brain tumour for a long time and her brain was shrinking. It sounds very painful to me and no one wants their loved ones to suffer. Her organs started failing one by one ...

My Baby looks just like his mom ...

My dad and his girlfriend was walking through the vinyards, like they always do and he had a heart attack. In the hospital he had another heart attack after they tried everything to revive him, but his heart just could not take it anymore! My brother and aunt Marietjie was with him. It all happened so fast - we were already packing to leave in Welkom, but it was just too late ...
